Treasure's Annual Fall Camping Trip

Washington, D.C.

Hello Happy Campers!!!  Are you ready for our (now) annual camping trip?!!  We are!!  By popular demand we are headed to Washington D.C.  October 7th - 10th.  I have searched for well priced campgrounds and talk to friends that lived in the area and the cheapest safe campground is CherryHill.  Cherry Hill Park is the Closest Campground to Washington, DC :|: Transportation

As you can see they have transportation to the metro right from the campground!!

Here is my suggested itinary:
Friday: Set up camp, visit, play
Saturday: head into dc, our family got hopper passes for the double decker tour buses, they make 22 stops along dc biggest attractions and you can get off and explore and get back on.  I got discount passes using groupon for $18 (13 yrs and up) $9 (5-12)  here is the link get them soon if you are thinking about it bc the prices will go up. Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus Tour of DC for an Adult or Child from DC Trails (Up to 50% Off)

We did a tour like this in Chicago and we loved it!  We learned a ton about the city and we weren't so worn out we couldn't move.

Alternate idea : The National Zoo (it is free you would just have to pay for transportation to it,see metro ticket)

Sunday: National Cathedral for worship? then the Natural History museum lunch on the mall (packed lunch) and an afternoon at the air and space museum

Monday: break down camp and then our family (we would love for you to join us!) will be driving to the other Air and Space Museum in Dulles, Va.  It is free to get into (90% of the collection including the space shuttle is here) but parking there is pricey.  Last time my friend was there it was $20.
I'm not promising but it is likely that we will stop at Ikea on the way home, and they do have cheap meals.

Metro ticket:  I am working on getting more info and exact stops together.  An all day pass is 14.50.  5 and under are free.  We may not need an all day pass but I will let you know the cheapest way I can find.

Okay so that's the plan.  PLEASE FILL OUT THIS SURVEY!!!  It will greatly help me with the planning of tours etc.

I can't wait!!!  I hope you can all come!!

God Bless,
