Since 1983, HEAV has successfully worked to promote and protect home education in Virginia by working with the Department of Education and legislators, having a presence during the General Assembly sessions, and providing up-to-date information to homeschooling families, the media, and officials. HEAV, coming from a biblical worldview, serves all homeschoolers—regardless of religious or philosophical beliefs. Membership is, and always has been, open to all. With a full-time office staff and hundreds of dedicated volunteers, we’re ready to answer your questions, offer support, and serve your needs year-round—just give us a call (804-278-9200) or send us an e-mail. 2018 HEAV Convention
Registration is now open for the 35th Annual Virginia Homeschool Convention in Richmond on June 7, 8, & 9. If you've never been, the convention is a smorgasbord of all things homeschooling. From influential speakers to classes for parents and students, from a graduation ceremony for seniors to a weekend long children's program for the littles, to music competitions, dissection labs, a chess championship and more. And don't even get me started on the curriculum fair. It's enough to leave your head spinning for the rest of the summer. Registration Information - Early registration fees are lower, and HEAV members get a $10 discount. Register online at HEAV.org New this year, Grandparents can register separately and attend free, no HEAV membership required. Also, parents of preschoolers can attend free! If your oldest is 4 or under (as of June 9, 2018) and this is your first HEAV convention, your registration is FREE!
